Sports Grounds Enhancement Project Phase 2 - Walking Trails
On June 19, 2010, the Sangudo community will once again come together to add some enhancements to the Sports Grounds. This year, the major project will be construction of the first phase of walking trails. Other projects being considered will be to add protective barriers to the top of the fences around Ball Diamonds #1 and #2, remove some dead trees, build stairs down to Ball Diamond #2, plant trees & shrubs, and do additional beautification projects.
The plans are being finalized and the committee would appreciate your help! A workbee has been planned for June 10 & 11 , 2010 starting at 9:00 am at the Arena. We require willing workers plus equipment such as skid steers, bob cats, flatbed trailers, and gravel trucks. If you are able to help, please contact David Loughridge 780-785-2763 or Carol Ohler 780-785-3700. We hope to see you there!

Sangudo Sports Grounds Enhancement and Beautification Projects
The Need... The Sangudo Sports Grounds is located in the beautiful Pembina River Valley. It is a vibrant recreational facility with an arena, ball diamonds, campground, race track and natural swimming area. It attracts many families and is in need of a safe, easily accessible playground. Hamlet beautification and a new skateboard park will also be valuable enhancements to the community.
The Activity... In one day volunteers will build a playground, a beach volley ball court, start a skateboard park, refurbish horseshoe pits and other existing structures, and complete various hamlet beautification projects. Subsequent phases include completion of the skateboard park, walking/biking/fitness trails and additional beautification projects.
The Impact... We are an Active, Creative and Engaged (ACE) community. We are all children at heart. Enhancing the Sports Grounds will bring recreational, social and play opportunities to children of all ages. In the process it will improve our quality of life and instill a greater sense of pride.
